Connecticut
Solar Panels in Greenwich, CT: 2026 Cost, Eversource Net Metering & Savings
Short answer
Greenwich is served mainly by Eversource. The 2025 EIA residential average for Connecticut was $0.293 per kWh. A rounded solar resource for this metro is about 4.1 peak sun hours a day. Neither number is your tariff or a roof study. Statewide context is on the Connecticut solar page.
Greenwich and the bill
Greenwich is served by Eversource. A house that faces New York is still on a Connecticut bill. Con Edison is not the utility. Greenwich has the same statewide price assumption as Hartford in our calculator, because we use the EIA average on purpose. The roofs are often larger, and the trees are often worse. Coastal exposure along the shore is a wind and salt question, not a hurricane-code copy from Florida. The export tariff is Eversource Residential Renewable Energy Solutions. A large roof does not create eligibility. The 2025 EIA residential average for Connecticut was 29.31 cents per kWh. That statewide figure is what our calculator uses. It is not the Eversource tariff. A rounded solar resource for this metro is about 4.1 peak sun hours a day.
Export credits and any SREC or REC
Eversource serves Greenwich. New residential projects use Residential Renewable Energy Solutions, the successor to legacy net metering and to the old Connecticut Green Bank incentive. The 2026 program manual lists a buy-all rate of $0.3289 per kWh for applications received that year, and a netting structure that credits exports at the retail rate then in effect, with a $0.0402 per kWh solar energy adjustment on netting production. Eligibility is the utility's decision. United Illuminating customers on the coast are on the same program name and a different company.
Roofs, climate, permits, and HOAs
Large single-family houses, complex roofs, and heavy tree cover on backcountry lots. Shore houses can be more exposed and may sit in flood zones. Historic-review streets can limit a street-facing array. A Greenwich permit comes from the local building department, not from Eversource. An HOA can add its own review. This page does not quote a CT permit fee or an approval, because both depend on the address. Get a shade model before you believe a zero-loss production chart. Name Eversource. If the bid uses a New York incentive, it is the wrong state.
Estimated cost range
Estimated cost range for Greenwich, labeled as an estimate and not a local quote: Berkeley Lab's August 2026 update put 2025 host-owned residential systems at about $3.60 per watt before incentives, about $3.00 per watt in the cash subset, and about $4.50 per watt in the loan subset. The median size in that set was 7.7 kW. Greenwich is about 4.1 peak sun hours a day, against about 4.0 statewide. The federal residential credit under 26 U.S.C. § 25D ended for systems placed in service after December 31, 2025. The IRS treats that expenditure as made when the original installation is completed.

Greenwich questions
Is Greenwich on a New York utility?
No. Greenwich addresses are typically Eversource in Connecticut.
Does a large roof change the state incentive?
No. Program qualification is separate from roof area. We do not promise either one.
What export rule should a Greenwich proposal name?
Name Eversource and the current rider or retail plan. Connecticut does not have one price that replaces the document on your bill. This page does not decide eligibility.
Is the Greenwich cost range a quote?
No. It applies Berkeley Lab's 2025 national medians, about $3.00, $3.60, and $4.50 per watt depending on the cash or loan subset, to illustrate a range. Your roof, the main panel, and the local permit can move it.
Does the federal tax credit apply to a new Greenwich system in 2026?
The federal residential credit under 26 U.S.C. § 25D ended for systems placed in service after December 31, 2025. The IRS treats that expenditure as made when the original installation is completed.
